Moxie Tour
Moxie Raia
Singing conscious pop music, with inspiration from 90s hip hop and soul, Moxie Raia is a singer songwriter living in downtown Los Angeles. She has collaborated with a small handful of tastemakers including Skrillex, Vic Mensa, and Wyclef Jean. Her lyrics are raw and honest; her melodies are both visceral and intimate; her vibe is down to earth but still elevated; and her voice is perfectly imperfect and undeniably her own.
On her single, “How to Feel,” Fader writes: “You might need to put your phone on airplane mode for this one. It’s one of those heart-wrenching tracks that comes along mid-cuffing season as a beacon of hope for those still reeling in their feelings from past relationships. Amid piano chords and finger-snaps, Moxie reminisces on a love turned sour: See these tattered clothes, see these streets we used to roam. But these images aren’t invoked with much sentimentality—this sets Moxie apart from Adele, for example—rather, there is an aching undercurrent of apathy throughout.”
Moxie has just released her mixtape, 931, which contains features from Goldlink, Post Malone, Wyclef Jean, Pusha T, and Jimi Tents. 931 has garnered praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Fader, and Vice. Already named One to Watch in 2016, Moxie brings her soulful grit to Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour.
